We are continuing to take submittals through the mail or online for our next full rotation that will go up in May of 2024.  All submittals are handled on a first come, first served basis; and are due by April 5th, so don't wait.  But also, don't worry. If your submittal arrives after that or if we reach our quota, we will put your hero in our next installation.

Salinas Hometown Heroes Banner Program is proud to honor the service and sacrifice of our local heroes. We're a nonprofit organization that creates custom-made banners featuring their names and photos, which are then displayed along the city's main streets. Join us in showing appreciation to those who have bravely served our nation.

The mission

The Mission

We are proud to serve those who have served our country. The Salinas Hometown Heroes Banner Program is a non-profit organization committed to providing a display of banners along Oldtown's Main Street, honoring the veterans and active duty service members who have called Salinas home. Our mission is to pay tribute to those who have sacrificed life, limb and time for the sake of others. We are dedicated to ensuring their memory endures, and their courage remains a source of inspiration for all.

Veterans

Veterans

To have your or your loved one's banner displayed as part of the Salinas Hometown Heroes Banner program, simply submit a photograph in uniform, along with the name and branch of service, to the Salinas Hometown Heroes Banner Committee. These personal banners will be showcased along South Main Street in Oldtown during two installations each year, with the spring installation from mid-May through mid-July and the fall installation from mid-September through mid-November. It's a wonderful way to honor and pay tribute to local heroes.
